Rick Schuurman

Prof. Rick Schuurman leads the department of functional neurosurgery in the University Medical Center Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His team works on improving deep brain stimulation with a focus on imaging and applied neurophysiology. With his team he published various clinical trials on DBS in Parkinson's disease, dystonia, tremor, obsessive compulsive disorder and depression.He is currently the president of the European Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ESSFN) and president of the Netherlands Society for Functional Neurosurgery in Movement Disorders.
