Dr. Caio M. Matias
Caio M. Matias, MD, PhD is Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Matias earned his medical degree and completed his neurosurgery residency training at the renowned University of São Paulo in Brazil. Dr. Matias has extensive post-residency training. He completed clinical fellowships at Thomas Jefferson University in Epilepsy and Functional Neurosurgery, Complex Spine Surgery and Neuro Critical Care. He obtained his PhD through a combined program between the University of São Paulo and the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Matias focus his research endeavors on neuromodulation, more specifically the use of spinal cord stimulation for restoration of movement and treatment of chronic pain syndromes.
